Despite her rigorous fitness regimen, Rashmika has a sweet tooth and enjoys indulging in her favorite treats like chocolate and ice cream. She loves relishing good food, making her diet sustainable, never falling into the vicious cycle of “weight loss-weight gain.” Rashmika also has a quirky food habit: she loves adding Lays chips to Maggi noodles for an extra crunch and flavor boost. 3. Curd Rice:

To make a simple and refreshing curd rice, begin by cooking a cup of rice until soft and let it cool. In a bowl, mix the cooled rice with a cup of yogurt, adding a little milk if needed to achieve a creamy consistency. Season with salt to taste. For the tempering, heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, a pinch of asafoetida (hing), and curry leaves. Once they splutter, pour this tempering over the curd rice mixture. Finally, garnish with fresh pomegranate seeds for a burst of color and sweetness, and serve chilled or at room temperature.

4. Biryani: With rasam!

Here’s one more quirky food habit that Rashmika has – she loves mixing rasam with biryani! Rasam is a traditional South Indian soup known for its tangy flavour.

To prepare rasam, you start by cooking a small amount of split pigeon peas (toor dal) until they become soft and mushy. In a separate pot, you combine water with chopped tomatoes, tamarind pulp, and rasam powder (a blend of spices like coriander, cumin, black pepper, and optionally, red chili powder). This mixture is brought to a boil and then simmered until the tomatoes are completely cooked and mashed.

After adding the cooked toor dal, you continue to simmer the rasam for a few more minutes. In a small pan, ghee or oil is heated and mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chilies are spluttered. This tempering is then poured over the rasam, stirred well, and garnished with freshly chopped coriander leaves. Rasam is typically served hot as a soup or alongside rice, appreciated for its comforting and aromatic qualities.

5. Idli-Dosa with Sambar:

Rashmika’s love for idli-dosa-sambar proves that she is a true blue South Indian. Idli, dosa, and sambar are quite popular not just in South India, but all over the world. Rashmika Mandanna too is a fan of idli/dosa with sambar and digs into them whenver she can. Together, idli and dosa are often served with sambar and coconut chutney, creating a delicious and satisfying meal that is enjoyed for breakfast or as a snack throughout the day.
